Starting swim lessons in the fall or winter offers several key advantages that can set swimmers up for success by the time spring and summer arrive. Here are some of our favorite benefits.
Build Confidence Early:
Starting lessons in the fall or winter allows children and adults to develop skills and confidence in the water before peak swimming season begins. By the time spring and summer arrive, they’ll have had more time to become comfortable and ready to enjoy the water without feeling overwhelmed. Building confidence early is also why we recommend starting swim lessons as early as 6 months old. We explore this topic further in our blog post, “Dive In Early: The Benefits of Starting Swimming Lessons for Babies and The Best Age to Start.”
Avoid the Summer Rush:
Our fall and winter seasons tend to be far less busy compared to spring and summer time. This means that we have better availability for securing a recurring lesson at your preferred time with your preferred instructor. We also have a greater amount of flexible and same-day lessons available during the fall and winter.
Consistency is Key:
We notice during the fall and winter seasons that our clients travel significantly less. When swimmers are able to attend swim classes regularly, they are able to develop their skills faster, and retain them much easier. When working on skills that are life saving, this is incredibly important! To learn more about how you can help maintain consistency in your child’s swim journey, check out our other blog “How to Stay Consistent with Your Child’s Swim Lesson Progress.”
Starting swim lessons during the fall or winter provides a better amount of time for swimmers to grow their skills. This helps ensure that they will be ready for a fun and safe summer in the water. So why wait? Sign up for swim lessons today!
